The Naira fell substantially against the United States dollar at the unofficial market on Tuesday, a market data collated in Lagos disclosed after close of business.
According to the data, the naira which stood at one thousand and forty naira per dollar in the morning, declined to one thousand and forty-naira and eventually closed at one thousand and fifty naira to a dollar on Tuesday.
PremiumTimes gathered that the rate implies ten naira depreciation from one thousand and forty naira the local unit exchanged at the unauthorized window on Monday.
Similarly, the naira on Monday weakened at the Investors and Exporters (I&E) window, closing at seven hundred and seventy-eight point eight-zero per dollar.
