Israel President Isaac Herzog has sent an appreciating message to Blinken for support in ‘time of need’
In a short joint news conference, the president thanked the United States for “caring” for Israel in its “time of need and one of the darkest hours endured” since the establishment of the state of Israel.
Blinken reaffirmed that he was in the country with one message, assuring that the United States stands with Israel every time.

Sylvia Bongo, wife of ousted Gabonese President Ali Bongo, has been held in pre-trial detention on allegations of the embezzlement of public funds.
According to her lawyer, Francois Zimeray, criticised the decision and is quoted as calling it arbitrary and illegal.
Mrs Bongo is facing charges of money laundering, forgery and the falsification of documents but has not made any public comment on the charges.
