Forty-one construction workers who were trapped in a tunnel in northern India following a landslide on November 12 have been successfully rescued.
The remarkable operation unfolded in Uttarakhand state, where the workers had been stranded for days.
The daring rescue mission saw each worker extracted individually through a specially inserted pipe measuring 90cm in diameter, skillfully navigated through the rubble of the collapsed tunnel.
Fortunately, reports indicate that none of the workers sustained injuries during their ordeal, although they are currently undergoing thorough medical examinations to ensure their well-being.
Authorities overseeing the operation were quick to supply the trapped men with essential provisions, including oxygen, food, and water, using a separate narrow pipe.
