Federal Government denies allegations of corruption in N-Power

Federal Government denies allegations of corruption in N-Power

The Federal Government has refuted claims that its N-Power program has been embroiled in
corruption. A statement issued in Abuja by the Communications Manager of the National
Social Investment Office, Justice Bibiye says the N-Power scheme is structured in a way that
makes it immune to corruption and other forms of sharp practices.

Bibiye said the scheme has no ghost beneficiaries, and that it remains the most successful
government-driven youth empowerment scheme in history.

The government said that although it is aware that some persons have assumed the role of
perpetual pessimists of the program, it will continue to set the records straight whenever
naysayers come up with falsehoods to mislead the public.

It would be recalled that the federal government last month sacked 2,500 N-Power
beneficiaries of the program for absenteeism.
