Army calls for application into direct short service

Army calls for application into direct short service

The Nigerian army has called for application into its short service commission (SSC 46/2020)
and direct short service commission (DSSC 25/2020).

In a statement issued yesterday, the army urged interested candidates to apply using the link
www.nigerianarmyms.ng”. It also said that interested candidates must be Nigerian and should
possess at least a first degree with not less than second class lower division or HND of not less
than lower credit from any accredited institution.

The army added that courses of study must also be accredited at the time of study, adding
that applicants must also possess NYSC discharge certificate or a valid exemption as the case
may be.
According to the statement, closing date for application is September 25.

The direct short service commission will be granted for 15 years, for an initial period of eight
years, renewable yearly for another period of seven years, while short service commission will
be granted for 15 years, 10 years will be on active list renewable thereafter for a period not
more than five years.

On Friday, army’s spokesperson, Sagir Musa had advised against fake advert for the
applications, adding that application forms to join the army “are not for sale”
