The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, has announced that significant strides have been made in the investigation into the abduction of Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, the chairman of the state’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Aziegbemi was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Friday night while on Idaro Street, off Country Home Road, Benin City.
Providing updates to the press, Commissioner Adegboye revealed that the police command is actively pursuing leads and intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend the perpetrators of the crime.
He said, “We have intensified our patrol. We were in the creeks on Sunday, around Ologbo, Obayantor, and other parts of the country.
He added, “Crime is crime, victim is victim. I want to let you know that we care for all. We don’t want to profile victims as if one is special to the other.
He assured the public that no stone would be left unturned in the quest to secure Aziegbemi’s safe release.
