Court stops PDP, Ayu from suspending Wike

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday ordered the Peoples Democratic Party not to make an attempt at suspending or expelling Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State from the party.

The defendants in the suit are the PDP, its National Working Committee, National Executive Committee, National Chairman, National Secretary and the Independent National Electoral Commission. The court made the order following an ex parte motion filed by Governor Wike.

Justice James Omotosho ordered that all parties in this suit shall maintain peace and shall not take any action or step or act that may make the outcome of the Motion on Notice dated and filed 2nd February 2023 nugatory and worthless. The court also adjourned till February 14 for further hearing.
