U-20 AFCON: Paul Aigbogun assures dropped players still part of team

Flying Eagles coach, Paul Aigbogun has stated that players who did not make the team’s under-twenty AFCON final cut remain an integral part of the squad. Aigbogun said the team will fly out to Niamey with the objective of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup finals, as well as winning the under-twenty AFCON trophy for the eighth time.

The Flying Eagles are billed to arrive in Niamey, the venue of their 2019 under-twenty AFCON group matches on Thursday morning. The Flying Eagles will face Niger Republic, South Africa and Burundi in Group A in Niamey.

The two top–placed teams in under-twenty AFCON Group A and B will advance to the semi-finals with 2019 FIFA under-twenty World Cup berths. The World Cup holds in Poland from May 23 to June 15.
