Teenage boy arrested for stealing a baby in Ogun state

18 year old Balogun Segun, was yesterday charged before an Ota Magistrate’s Court in Ogun State, for allegedly stealing a baby.Law

The prosecutor, Itaita Ebibomino, told the court that the accused committed the crime on February 25 at about 5p.m. at Oko-Agi Area, Ota, Ogun state. Segun was charged with one count of stealing a minor.

Segun pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge preferred against him and was issued a N200,000 bail by the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Funke Odubanjo with responsible sureties in like sum. She set terms for the sureties.

She said that the sureties should be resident within the court’s jurisdiction and should be gainfully employed,one of the sureties should be a guardian or parent of the accused, while others should produce one year tax clearance from Ogun State Government.

The case was adjourned till April 29 for hearing.
