The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Kwara branch on Saturday rejected mode of distribution of June allocation to state Agencies and the 16 Local Government councils in the state.
The Union rejected the mode of distribution in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Union in the state, Mr Afolabi Abayomi in llorin on Saturday.
The statement which was issued after the state joint Account allocation account Committee meeting held on 23rd and 24th June, 2016 in llorin described the distribution as unfair.
The statement read that the sharing formula which gives only 40 percent to the 16 Local Government Councils would not alleviate the untold hardship currently facing the over 14,000 Local Government Workers in the state.
“NULGE in Kwara wish to reject the mode of distribution of June allocation because the sharing formular was unfair, bias, unjustifiable and injustice thus totally rejected”, the statement read.
The Union alleged that 60 percent of the June allocation and 10 percent of the internally generated revenue were allocated to SUBEB against the provision of the constitution.
NULGE in the statement appealed to Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed to direct the redistribution of the allocation in line with the existing pro-rata arrangement.
The statement read that the mode of the June allocation distribution was a calculated attempt to cripple the Local Government Councils in the state.
It would be recalled that Workers in all the 16 Local Government councils in the state are still on strike over unpaid salary arrears.
