The Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin, Professor Abdulganiyu Oladosun has called all the arms of government which includes the legislature, the executive and the judiciary to key into the current war against corruption led by President Muhanadu Buhari.
Oladosun who was a guest lecturer and represented by the deputy chief Imam of the institution, doctor Nasir at the 10th Annual Ramadan Lecture of the Muslim community of the University of Ilorin frowned at the involvement of arms of government in corruption saga, noting that leaders should lead by example.
Delivering his paper titled corruption, “National development and the perspective of Islam”, Oladosun advocated for creation of superior group to monitor and evaluate the activities of all government officials, executive, legislature among others.
According to him, there cannot be sustainable development nor political stability in the atmosphere of corruption.
Oladosun who was the immediate vice chancellor of Alh-Ikmah University however called on federal government not to grant autonomous power to certain executive officers to tamper with public money without proper check and balance.
As reported by our correspondent,the vice chancellor of university of Ilorin, professor Abdulganiyu Ambali earlier in his remark, called on well-meaning Nigerians to always assist the less privileged in a bid to put smiles on their faces.
