Yobe Stars To Unveil Elechi As New Head Coach

written by Esther faroye November 9, 2018

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) outfit, Yobe Desert Stars will unveil Ngozi Elechi as their new head coach on Monday. Report gathered that Elechi has already penned a two-year contract with Yobe Desert Stars after severing ties with another NPFL side, Go Round FC.

He spent five years with Go Round guiding the Omoku club from the amateur league to the Nigeria National League (NNL), and finally secured a berth in the NPFL last season. Elechi escaped sack at the start of the season following Go Round’s indifferent start to the campaign.

The young tactician will replace Mohammed Baba Ganaru at Yobe Desert Stars whose one-year contract was not renewed after the team struggled under his tutelage last term. Yobe Desert Stars made a return to the NPFL last season after a stint in the Nigeria National League.
