Super Eagles rise on FIFA Ranking

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up two places to 38th position on the latest FIFA world football ranking released on Thursday.

The Super Eagles, who were ranked 40th in the world and 5th in Africa last month, overtook Burkina Faso to moved to 4th on the continent behind Egypt, Senegal and 2016 AFCON champions, Cameroon. Burkina Faso are now 7th in Africa.

The top 10 in the world remain unchanged with Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Chile, Colombia, France, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland and Spain retaining their spots.

FIFA’s latest release comes ahead of a busy month in senior international football, with FIFA World Cup qualifying and the FIFA Confederations Cup set to take centre stage in June.
