President Muhammadu Buhari has passed a vote of no confidence on the leadership of the eighth National Assembly on the issue of patriotism.
While speaking, on Monday night, during a videotaped interview broadcast on Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, President Buhari said the National Assembly stayed seven months without passing the budget his government presented, thereby hindering his government from moving faster with all the projects that they have set out to achieve.
The president said certain wrong culture was developed in the National Assembly, suggesting that the Legislators dictate the terms.
The President added that he had conveyed his reservation directly to the legislative leaders while assenting the bill on Monday morning, urging them to put aside their own interests for the good of the nation.
The President however said that some success have been achieved in his first term including bringing relieve to the people in Nigeria’s Northeastern region.
He promised Nigerians that he’ll continue to do his best as he prepares to be sworn in for a second term on May 29.
