President Muhammadu Buhari says the recent changes in travel advice from the U.S and U.K governments should not be a cause for panic.
The President, in a statement issued today by his spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, advised the nation’s security establishment and entire citizens to continue being vigilant and careful.
He maintained that the travel advice was not an indication that there would be attacks on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and stressed that it was important to avoid panic as the security agents had been in charge of the situation since the July prison raid in Kuje.
According to the statement, the President further expressed optimism that given the ongoing efforts on the part of the military and other security and intelligence agencies with the active support of the civilian population, the nation will emerge victorious against the current challenges facing it.
The President gave assurances that the government was on top of the security situation in the country.
