enforcemeThent team of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service, has sealed off nine business premises in the Ondo North Senatorial District for defaulting payment of Personal Income Tax and Land Use Charge,.
The exercise was carried out in Ikare, Arigidi, Ugbe and Owo following an order of a Court.
Businesses sealed off include: Romako Store, Ikare with the total deficit of Over One Million Naira, Ogedengbe Tolani Cocoa Store, Ikare, Oladunjiye Oil and Kernel processing plant, Arigidi, Olori Omotoyinbo Olufunke Store, Ugbe.
Others include; FEVJERH Nigeria Enterprise, Arigidi, Ibitoye Akinola Nursery/Primary School, Ikare, and AV Folajimi Chambers, Ikare. Shops and office spaces were sealed in Owo over failure of landlords to pay the Land Use Charge.
Head of the enforcement unit, Gregory Afuwape noted that the government of Ondo State was lenient enough with payment of tax, stressing that before the enforcement, the unit explored several avenues to ensure compliance, all of which he said failed.
Afuwape however gave assurance that the sealed properties will be released to the owners upon payment of their dues.
