NLC promises to agree with Minimum wage negotiating council’s decision

NLC promises to agree with Minimum wage negotiating council’s decision

The Nigeria Labour Congress has promised to support any position taken by the Public Service Negotiating Council at its meeting on the new national minimum wage scheduled for today.
The President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba, said this on the sidelines of the inauguration of the International Lawyers Assisting Workers in Abuja on Tuesday.
Negotiation on the new wage has apparently run into a logjam, following the inability of labour and government to agree on consequential adjustments.
Wabba however said that the NLC would not pre-empt the decision of the negotiating team today, adding that it would be contrary to the spirit of dialogue and collective bargaining. He explained that once they are able to take a definite decision, the NLC would support the decision.
