The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Katsina State disrupted a pre-wedding ceremony drug abuse competition in Shola Quarters, Katsina, leading to the arrest of 25 youths.
The incident, which involved the groom, Musa Gwandi, and his friends, saw the participants abusing various illicit substances in what was described as a drug party.
NDLEA Spokesman Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, revealed that the groom, Musa Gwandi, was not present during the arrest but was subsequently apprehended on December 3 following a manhunt.
“Though the groom, Musa Gwandi who organised the drug party along with his friends was not at the venue at the time the 25 others were arrested, he was nabbed on Sunday, December 3 following a manhunt for him,” Babafemi said.
The youths were found indulging in drug abuse, with a mixture of multiple drugs discovered in a plastic bucket at the scene.
