The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned youths in the country against abuse of alcohol, reiterating the commitment of the NAFDAC to intensify public enlightenment against abuse of alcohol to ensure sanity in the society.
Mr Kazeem Adeniran, Assistant Chief Regulatory Officer, Investigation and Enforcement Department, NAFDAC, Apapa, Lagos, gave the warning while speaking with Journalists on Friday in Ota, Ogun.
Adeniran identified abuse of alcohol as one of the major causes of crime in the country. Adeniran also blamed some of the road traffic crashes on the usage of alcohol by motorists because of its negative effects on the sense of reasoning.
He appealed to companies in the country to join hands with NAFDAC in the fight against abuse of alcohol.
“We are appealing to youths in the country to desist from abuse of alcohol because this could destroy their future,” he said.
