The Media Group has tasked Nigerian leaders to move from rhetoric to practical approach on development and prosperity, outlining some of the problems facing Nigeria, and suggesting best ways of tackling them for future prosperity.
In its Goodwill Message released today to all Nigerians through the Media on the occasion of the Independence Anniversary, the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria stated that, Nigeria does not lack economic, human and material resources to develop and prosper, but regretted that the political class and their sycophants have always brandished fashionable ideas but failed woefully to do them after stepping into the positions of authority.
The Media Group further pointed out that leadership must shift from rhetoric to meaningful actualization of promises – as good governance is the only antidote that could sustain the confidence of the people in any Administration.
In a Press Statement issued by the Group and signed by its National Coordinator Alh. Ibrahim Abdullahi, it stated that time is ripe to re-examine the American model of Presidential Democracy and determine to remove certain aspects of it that are impediments to good governance.
Speaking on the price of fuel, the Group called for a time-frame for modernization of the Nation’s Refineries to crash-down prices of petroleum products to reduce prices of goods and services in-order to bring relief to the suffering masses.
