Manchester United have offered a new contract of three hundred and fifty pounds a week to David De Gea. The Spain international player’s current deal is set to expire at the end of next season which means manchester United run the risk of losing their first-choice goalkeeper on a free transfer next summer.
The club had been unwilling to meet De Gea’s wage demands the player demanded parity with the team’s top earner Alexis Sanchez, who earns four hundred pounds a week before bonuses.
But according to reports, Manchester United have taken a major step forward by improving their contract offer to De Gea, who currently earns two hundred thousand pounds.
The proposed five-year deal would make De Gea the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world and the report claims that the Spaniard’s camp will continue talks with United. De Gea has attracted strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain and real Madrid but United are not entertaining the idea of selling him this summer.
