The Lagos State Government, in the early hours of Wednesday, shut down the popular Alade Market, in Onigbongbo Local Council Area of Ikeja, for flouting environmental laws following a series of abatement notices.
The closure followed the directive, announced by the Director, of Public Affairs, ministry, Kunle Adeshina via his official media page, noting that the the enforcement was carried out by the officials of the Lagos State Waste Management Agency, LAWMA, in collaboration with Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps, LAGESC
Adesina said the market would not be reopened until specified conditions are met.
