Kwara Must Change urges SUBEB to sanction Headmistress accused of assaulting teacher as accused denies allegation

Leading Pro-democracy group in Kwara state, Kwara Must Change has called on the leadership of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to sanction Headmistress of Magaji Aare LGEA School, Idi Ape, Alhaja Ibrahim Titilayo Olomu who allegedly assaulted Mrs Ahmed Rukayat, a primary two teacher in the school.

The group also called on Subeb to caution all heads of schools in the state, to desist from abusive conduct and high handedness which it said has become rampant in schools.

In a statement by Kwara Must Change state coordinator, Comrade Yusuf Olatunji, the group claimed that the teacher assaulted by Alhaja Olomu is a member of the group and that the group is ready to protect her rights by pressing charges against her abuser.

While decrying such development in schools, Kwara Must Change called on the leadership of subeb to look into the matter with a view to discourage such and cleanse government schools of abusive conducts by the heads.

Meanwhile, when contacted by RoyalFM, Alhaja Olomu denied slapping the teacher. The headmistress rather alleged that in the heat of the argument, it was the teacher who attempted to slap her. She however explained that her hand was held by others present at the scene.
