The Kwara State Government has urged the citizens to key into community development for the overall benefit of the society.
The Deputy Governor Mr Kayode Alabi stated this today at the closing ceremony of the National Community Development held at 1st ECWA Church, Ilorin.
Mr Alabi said the annual campaign is designed to give local as well as national attention to accomplishments made possible by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) program.
He said the present Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq, is doing its best in terms of Community Development across the Three Senatorial Districts. Mr Alabi encouraged everyone to be part of this great move as the government alone cannot do it.
Earlier, Mr Kayode Oyin Zubair, Senior Special Assistant, Community Development Intervention explained that the National Community Development week would be the first of its kind in Kwara State and encouraged the public to join the effort. This, he said, will discourage rural/urban migration. The SSA appreciated the Governor for his quick responses to community issues.
In his sermon, Pastor Jolayemi warned the people against the emergency and quick harvest they have not worked for.
Seedtime, he said, is a time of labour and planting that no one should miss if they want to have something to harvest.
