Kwara Govt explains hitches in October salary

·       Payment begins already

The Kwara State government has said it’s aware of some hitches in the payment of salary for civil servants at the state level for October.

In a terse statement by Harriet Afolabi-Oshatimehin, Commissioner for Communications, the government said the hitches, and some accompanying issues such as non-deduction of some statutory dues like labour union check-up dues, are due to a change in the payment platform technology/software.

According to the statement, the whole essence of the platform switch is to ensure more efficiency and integrity of the payroll in the overall interest of the state.

It concluded that efforts are already being made to address the issues.
