Group urges prompt extradition of Diezani to Nigeria

Group urges prompt extradition of Diezani to Nigeria

Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria has condemned in strong terms the defence of former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Alison Diezani Madueke who has been accused of corruption.

The group in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulahi described as shameless, irrational and irresponsible defence of Dieziani who has been accused of looting billions of dollars without her being able to clear herself. The group said the forfeiture to the government of huge cash and properties traced to her as ordered by the court after no claim were made is a pointer to the fact that there is something suspicious.

The civil group also questioned the former minister’s continued stay in the United Kingdom when grave accusations are still leveled against her, wondering whether she would have remained abroad for so long if named for a special appointment.

The Media Watch Group therefore called on the Federal Government to fast-tract her extradition back to the Country under whatever condition to face criminal charges.
