The Socio-Economic Rights And Accountability Project has threatened to sue President Bola Tinubu and the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, over an attack on the National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero.
Punch gathered that Ajaero was last week arrested by the police ahead of the state-wide protest in Imo State.
In a swift response, the police denied arresting Ajaero, stating that he was merely taken into protective custody to prevent a mob attack.
Reacting via a post on their X handle, SERAP announced the decision to sue President Tinubu’s administration and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, over the brutal attack on NLC National President, Joe Ajaero and the failure of the authorities to bring suspected perpetrators to justice.
