Foundation trains midwives on use of ultrasound machines in Kwara, Osun

Towards empowering safer birth in the North Central states, among other states in the country, over 400 midwives and nurses have been trained in the use of V-Scan Portable Hand-held Ultrasound machines in four states.

Tribune newspaper reports that The training programme, organized by the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA) in partnership with General Electric (GE), was done with the donation of eight ultrasound scan machines to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Lagos, Osun and Kwara states.

Speaking at the opening of a two-day training programme for Kwara and Osun states’ midwives and nurses on the use of V-Scan Portable Hand-held Ultrasound machines in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital on Tuesday, senior programme lead of Wellbeing Foundation Africa, Dr Tonade Ayomide, said that it is the first time midwives and nurses are trained on the use of the ultrasound scan machines in the country.
