Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the federal high court sitting in Lagos has adjourned the trial case of popular Nigerian singer, Naira Marley following the defendant’s absence from court.
It is reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is prosecuting the defendant on charges bordering on cybercrime.
Naira Marley was consequently arraigned on May 20, 2019, before Justice Nicholas Oweibo, but he pleaded not guilty which the court had accordingly granted him bail of two million naira, with two sureties in like sum. The trial has since commenced in the case and is still ongoing.
It is recalled that the police in Lagos detained Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, in connection with the death of Nigerian artiste, Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as “Mohbad”.
