A renowned Lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana, has advised the acting president Yemi Osinbajo not to assent and sign the 2017 budget presented to him by the National Assembly into law, saying that according to section one-two-one of the nation’s constitution, it is illegal for the assembly to increase the budget of the country by a one naira.

Falana, who made the call at the summit organized by a Kwara NGO,  Movement for Genuine Change held in Ilorin, accused the national assembly of increasing the its own budget from one hundred and fifteen billion naira to one hundred and twenty five billion naira at the expense of Nigerians who are groaning and dying in poverty. Falani who said the state government recently collected billions of Nigeria from the Abuja to pay salaries of workers challenge the NGO to ask questions from the state government on how the money was spent. In his remark, the chairman of the NGO, Doctor Hezekiah oyedepo said the organization will continue to struggle for the freedom of the state.
