Federal Government To Organize Promotion Examination For Civil Servants, Ratifies 14-day Paternity Leave For Male Public Servants

The Federal government through the Head of Service said it has concluded arrangements to conduct its 2022 promotion examination across the six geopolitical zones nationwide for civil servants of Grade Levels 06 to 13.

In a statement signed by the deputy director of communications for the Head of Service of the Federation, Mohammed Ahmed, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, approved the release of the timetable for the conduct of the 2022 promotion examination for eligible candidates on salary Grade Levels 06-13 in the common pool of the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

He said the accreditation has been slated to take place from Monday 5th to Thursday 8th, of December between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm daily, and the examination will be held on Saturday, December 10, at the same centres.

Similarly, the federal government has approved the commencement of a 14-working-day paternity leave for federal civil servants.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, in a circular titled, ‘Computation of Leave Based on Working Days and Approval of Paternity Leave in the Public Service’ said the approval was in line with the provisions of the Public Service Rules, 2021 Edition, that the computation of all leave shall be based on 14 working days.

The circular stated that the period of the leave shall be 14 working days and shall not be more than once in two years, and a maximum of four children.
