The Board of Trustees of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP), has suspended its founder and candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the National Working Committee, (NWC), members of the party for six months for alleged anti-party activities.
The Board of Trustees also appointed new national officers headed by Dr. Agbo Major as acting National Chairman and Ogini Olaposi as the Acting National Secretary.
Addressing newsmen at the end of the meeting in Lagos on Tuesday, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Babayo Muhammed Abdulahi accused Kwankwaso of hobnobbing with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi, without the board’s authorisation.
Abdullahi revealed that Kwankwaso had been stripped as the party’s national leader by the board, stating that the NNPP founder was in flagrant gross violation of the party’s constitution.
