The Federal Government on Monday vowed to tackle food insecurity by feeding Nigerians and exporting food products to earn foreign exchange.
The newly sworn-in Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, made the statement while speaking with journalists following his assumption to office on Monday.
Kyari stressed that Nigerians have the potential to achieve the set goals and make exportation of food to earn foreign exchange for the country.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Borno State Prof. Babagana Zulum, who accompanied the ministers to the ministry, said Nigeria needs sustainable long and medium-term plans to address food insecurity.
