The toll of casualties in the Israeli attacks on Gaza has witnessed a grim escalation, with the latest figures from the Health Ministry revealing a significant increase.
As of Friday, the number of people killed in the assaults since October 7 has risen to seven thousand, four hundred and eighty-seven compared to seventeen thousand, one hundred and seventy-seven reported the day before.
Health Ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra provided these harrowing statistics, emphasizing the severe impact of the ongoing conflict on the civilian population.
In addition to the staggering loss of life, al-Qudra reported that forty-six thousand, four hundred and eighty people have been wounded as a result of the hostilities.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) vote on the draft resolution calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza has been reportedly postponed.
The 15-member body, originally scheduled to vote on the resolution on Friday morning in New York, has now reportedly rescheduled the vote to 5:30 pm local time.
