As the deadline for the total change of old naira note approaches, the central bank of Nigeria CBN today took campaign on new naira note to communities in kwara state
As part of efforts to sensitize kwara residents on the brain behind new naira note design which has been lingering for months in Nigeria and just as the deadline for the total change of old naira note approaches, the central bank of Nigeria CBN today took campaign on new naira note to communities in kwara state.
Addressing traders in mandate market in Ilorin, the branch controller of Ilorin central bank of Nigeria , Alhaji Najeem Lamidi who said the aim of the enlightenment is to create rooms for marketers to understand the need to visit bank to deposit their old new note in place of new naira note.
Present at the event were ” iya of Loja ” of ipata, oja oba, okolowo , eyeinkorin among others.
While noting that the deadline remains January’ thirty first., the CBN state controller said all commercial in Kwara state and Nigeria at large have been directed to load new naira note in all ATM across the state.
He noted that any commercial bank found wanting in Kwara state will sanctioned and meant to face the wrath of law.
The CBN also visited Bishop of Anglican diocese Kwara , Reverend Sunday Timothy odewole where the reverend was charged to Orient Anglican members on the need to activate cashless policy by using online transaction.
The CBN team also pleaded with the bishop to advice members on the need to deposit their old naira note before the closing date.
