As part efforts to reduce decadence in the country, a group, Macheebis Technology, at the weekend, in Ilorin, Kwara state capital unveiled a Christian Reality Television Show, tagged “Bible Stars TV show.
The Christian Reality Television Show aims to propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ and increase the knowledge of people in the Bible, by “Catching them young.”
Speaking at the event, chairman of the Kwara state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN , Most Revered Paul Olawoore who commended the organiser said the Bible star TV show will enable youths understand the bible and move closer to God.
CAN President, Women wing, kwara state chapter, Lady Evangelist Marian Bukoye called on the government to support the programme.
In his comment, the Deputy Governor of Kwara state, Kayode Alabi, represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Remilekun Banire, described the show as one of the best shows expected on TV across the globe.
Alabi said that the programme would reduce immorality in the society.
The Deputy Governor commended the organisers of the reality show, adding that it is an initiative at a time when the nation needed it most.
“It is no longer news that these days people celebrate immorality, and programmes like this will enable youths watch religious shows.
“It will not only broaden their knowledge of the Bible but also instill morals into them,” the deputy governor said.
Representing the Kwara state commissioner of police, Mohammed Lawal Bagega, the Police Public Relation Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, said the TV show is coming at a time the country’s level of decadence is at a high level. He said this will assist in nurturing the minds of the young ones and curbing criminality.
Speaking with newsmen, the brain behind the Bible Stars TV show, Pastor Bectta Eferobome, said the vision was given by God to ensure that youths devote their time for God through effective bible reading and understanding.
The Visioner said that the show was to change the narrative from promoting immoral shows, noting that the word of God is lacking in the lives of Christians.
“Without the scripture, a Christian lives the life of hypocrisy. This is beyond just a show of entertainment, it is to propagate the gospel of Christ.
“To entertain does not have to promote immorality and evil vices, we need good content and the winner will be crowned ‘Bible man of the year’,” he said.
