Chuba Akpom scored his first goal in the Eredivisie as struggling Ajax beat Volendam 2-0 on Thursday night.
Ajax ended a run of 10 straight games without a win (seven defeats, three draws)
It was Akpom’s first goal in 11 league appearances since his move from Middlesbrough, the last time the Dutch giants won a game back in August when they beat Ludogorets in the Europa League.
In Thursday’s home game, Steven Bergwijn opened the scoring in the 57th minute.
Akpom then secured the three points by grabbing the second goal on 89th minutes.
