The President and founder, African Broadband Limited, owners of RoyalFM, RoyalTimes and RoyalTV online, Engineer Gbenga Adebayo, has urged Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of the present administration as Nigeria embarks on the journey to make life better for all and sundry.
Engineer Adebayo who made the charge in a statement to mark Nigeria’s 56th independence anniversary, said the people’s act of patriotism, perseverance and determination are essential ingredients that can make the nation survive at this critical moment.
While acknowledging the fact that the nation should have progressed beyond its present state after 56 years of self-rule, Adebayo said this is no time for blame games but a period to come together as one, put the past behind, end the hardship confronting the people and restore Nigeria’s glorious days.
In his message to Nigerian leaders, the entrepreneur who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Communication Network Support Services Limited, CNSSL, called on them to see “leadership as a call to service and not for personal enrichment and opulence.”
While describing an ideal leader as one who puts service of the country above self, he noted that with the political and ethnic divides being witnessed in Nigeria, the nation’s leader must be able to recognise the cultural diversity of the country and find a balance between the various cultural groups.
“We cannot divorce leadership from our culture. The kind of leader we have has to reflect the diversity of our society. Whoever is going to lead us must recognise the cultural diversity of the country and must be able to find a balance between the various cultural groups,” he said.
