The Senate for the second time on Wednesday rejected the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Former Senate Majority leader, Ali Ndume in a point of order however opposed Magu’s rejection, stating that the Senate received two different letters from the DSS.
However, Senator representing Kogi Central, Dino Melaye stated that following his rejection, the Senate should mandate the most senior officer to take over.
Senate President Bukola Saraki in his concluding speech said, “We should not rubbish the entire institution because of an individual”.
