As public and private primary schools in kwara state wrote 2016/2017 Common Entrance Examination today, an appeal has gone to Federal Government to handover the payment of primary to junior secondary school teachers salary to state government.
The principal of junior secondary school Adewole, Hamed Tajudeen who made the appeal when our correspondent, olarotimi oshin visited the school to monitor the extermination in the state said there is need to inaugurate an independent body to monitor salary of state teachers.
He advocated for uniformity in teacher’s salary payment, urging Federal Government to carry out complete overhaul of educational system by allowing state government to manage the affairs of primary to secondary school level rather than being manage by state Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB or local government.
During his visit to schools, the education secretary of Ilorin west, Alhaji Usman Animasahun who spoke with our correspondent, commended primary school teachers in the state for their dedication despite salary owed to them, saying that salary would be paid as soon as verification exercise is over.
Animasahun who at the time of the interview with our correspondent said he had visited over ten schools to monitor the extermination. He commended the principal of the government day secondary school Adewole for perfect arrangement.
The education secretary however called on parents to monitor their children and train them morally expected.
