Galatasaray forward, Henry Onyekuru, says the dream of representing Nigeria at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon is the biggest motivation the Super Eagles have to beat Libya in Saturday’s clash at the Akwa Ibom international stadium Uyo.
Onyekuru, a big prospect for Nigeria prior to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, was left out of the Super Eagles squad to the mundial after he failed to recover on time from a leg injury that kept out of action for six months.
But having been recalled to the team, the 20 year old wants to keep his place in the team.
“So happy to be in the team for the game against Libya. We are self motivated because a large number of us haven’t been to the Nations Cup before,” Onyekuru told CSN in Uyo.
“Winning these two games against Libya will give us a a good advantage of qualifying for the tournament.”
On the competition places in the Super Eagles attack, the Everton loanee says he will be fully ready to play whatever role the coach requires of him.
“We have good players and we have to justify it when we are called upon to play.”
