The Federal Government says the inauguration of president Buhari for a second term on the 29th of May 2019, will be a low-key affair.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who disclosed this, said a number of the events slated for the inauguration will now be held during the first observance of June 12 as the National Democracy Day.
It will be recalled that president Buhari had last year declared June 12 as Democracy Day and invested late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola posthumously with the nation’s highest national honour, Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR).
The two chambers of the National Assembly at that time also passed a resolution supporting presient Buhari’s declaration, thus the country’s Democracy Day was changed to June 12, from May 29.
