Sports Minister celebrates Mikel on Retirement

Nigeria’s Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has heaped praises on former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, as the 2013 AFCON winner calls time on his illustrious footballing career.

Mikel Obi retires as one of Nigeria’s most decorated players with 91 international caps, one AFCON title, an Olympic Bronze medal, three English F.A Cups, two English Premier League trophies, one UEFA Champions League title, and one Europa League title, amongst other accolades in his entire career.

The player however made an official announcement of his retirement on his verified social media handle on the 27th of September 2022.
