Some Nigerians in Diaspora urges Akinwumi Adesina to join Presidential Race

Some Nigerians in diaspora have called on the President of African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina to declare intention to run for the President of Nigeria in the 2023 General elections.

A body of Nigerians in the diaspora, Diaspora Support Group of North America and Europe, in a statement titled ‘A Clarion Call to Draft African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina into the 2023 Nigerian Presidential Race, said they will prefer Adeshina to run as an independent candidate, if such was possible, but will appreciate if he contests under any of the two major Nigerian political parties, the All Progressives Congress or the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Group in the statement issued by the Convener of #DiasporaSupport4Adesina, Dr. Tony Bello said Adeshina’s candidacy announcement will send a message to the world that Nigeria’s democracy has come of age.
