With the demanding nature of the Labour Market, the Kwara State University Malete has trained and prepared the 2022 Graduating Students in different field and skills.
This was done during a program tagged “2022 Career Fair And Exhibition For All Graduating Student” organized on wednesday for graduating students of the university at the Mini Convocation Arena.
Speaking to Journalists, the Acting Director of Counseling And Career Service Centre of the Kwara State University, Rahmat Shuaib said the intention of the program is to create an avenue for the students to interact with experts from different fields.
“The aim is to bring a forum where our graduates can interact with the employee’s of labor around the different filed of study that we have. As young stars, we advice them to be confident and believe in themselves. We also try to realize the kid of person they are, their individual differences and their area of strength.”
However, the director center for digital control in the institution, Hassanat Bello speaks on the digital economy, she said, “the digital economy is all about renovation, using your IT knowledge to enhance all our daily activities.Ffor instance if you are a fashion designer you should be able to know what you can key into on the internet.”
Similarly, the CEO of SoftRay ICT Centre, Demola John spoke on ways to get global opportunity through ICT, “You have to position yourself for global opportunities.”
Counseling expert, Professor Yahya Alabi urges the students to be prepared for the labout market, “My advice to the graduating students is that, they should be prepared for the challenges ahead. What they need to do is to develop two major things one is personal skills that is the aspect of personal development and the other is professional skill.”
In their remark, the students appreciated the school management for the program, saying the knowledge acquired and experience gained from the seminar will help in tackling the challenges after school.
