The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday confirmed Ola Olukoyede as the new Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The upper chamber also confirmed the appointment of Muhammad Hammajoda as the Secretary of the anti-graft agency following a screening one week after their appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
Olukoyede’s assumption as the new EFCC boss comes nearly four months after President Tinubu suspended the former chairman of the anti-graft agency, Abdulrasheed Bawa.
Olukoyede’s and Hammajoda’s appointment is for a renewable term of four years in the first instance.
