Peter Obi promises to revive Ibom Deep seaport

Peter Obi promises to revive Ibom Deep seaport

Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticised the Federal Government for not developing the Ibom deep seaport 40 years after the Senate visited the site in Akwa Ibom State.

The former Anambra State Governor who made this known at the party’s presidential rally in Uyo on Tuesday however promised to address the low level of Federal Government infrastructural interventions in the state adding that he would turn the ongoing Ibom Deep Seaport into an export processing centre if elected the next president of Nigeria.

He expressed regrets that 2023 would be exactly 40 years that a serving Senator visited the State over the Deep Seaport project and stressed that much has not been done.

The former Anambra State governor had travelled to the project site at Ibaka, Mbo Local Government Area with a helicopter for an on-the-spot assessment of the project.

Earlier, the National Chairman of the party, Julius Abure appreciated the people for coming out en masse to support Peter Obi as their presidential candidate, and advised them not to vote for people who lacked the capacity and Integrity to address the challenges of the country.
