The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a stern warning, promising to take disciplinary action against members found guilty of anti-party activities and undermining the party’s interests during the 2023 general elections.
Captain Umar Bature, the National Organizing Secretary (NOS) of the PDP, reiterated this commitment during a crucial meeting held on Tuesday. The gathering convened the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) alongside the 36 State Chairmen in Abuja.
The Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Amb. Umar Damagum, had previously declared in December 2023 the party’s intention to crack down on such behavior within its ranks.
Vanguard gathered, he cited figures like former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the FCT, Chief Nyesom Wike, as individuals potentially facing sanctions.
In a renewed effort to enforce discipline, the NOS urged state party chairmen and other key stakeholders to identify and report members engaged in activities contrary to the party’s objectives. He emphasized the importance of exposing such individuals to the National Executive Committee (NEC) for appropriate disciplinary measures.
