PDP, Labour Party, ADP Demand Fresh Elections, Ask INEC Chairman To Step Aside

written by olarotimi February 28, 2023

The Peoples Democratic Party, the Labour Party and the African Democratic Party have asked the Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, to step aside.

The three parties in a joint press conference today, alleged that the February 2023 presidential election was marred by violence, rigging and intimidation of voters.

In a Tuesday morning statement by its spokesperson, Daniel Bwala, the PDP said, asked the electoral umpire to fix a date for conduct of elections that addresses areas where the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System was not used and areas marred by violence.

In its remarks, the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation of the Peoples Democratic Party has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to declare the Saturday February 25, 2023, presidential election conducted across the country, inconclusive.
