Nigerians have been admonished to fully participate in the Population and Housing Census to prevent a recurrence of the 2006 Population Census scenario where a lot of individuals, especially in Kwara were not counted.
Mr. Olusegun Adeyemi, State Director, National Orientation Agency gave the admonition today on ‘NOA on Air’, a one hour live phone-in programme on Okin Fm 105.7 Offa, Kwara State, emphasizing on the importance of population census, admonished individuals especially Kwarans to ensure they give their maximum cooperation in the forthcoming Census when it begins in May.
The NOA Director also appealed to Nigerians not to leave where they reside for Census, as they would be counted anywhere within the country and it will reflect accordingly.
The NOA State Director called on everyone not to see the forth-coming National Population and Housing Census as an instrument of Taxation but a necessary periodic collection and collation of Population data for planning and national development.
As reported by our correspondent Olarotimi Oshin , the director also admonished Nigerians especially mothers not to take questions too personal when asked during the exercise.
